Wines with profile

For years, the “Regional Wine Committee Kamptal” – a group of representatives of the wine industry – have ensured that the term “Kamptaler Wine” has given a clear and competitive profile. A central point in the work of the Wine Committee is to define the standards for “typical regional quality wines with geographic origin” – so-called DAC wines. The Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are for Kamptal. In this context, the Committee also devotes itself to the review of designations of vineyards throughout Kamptal.

Regional Wine Committee Kamptal

In the Regional Wine Committee Kamptal, various representatives of the wine industry work together with the aim of constantly optimizing the quality of the Kamptal wine and its marketing. Together with the Austrian wine marketing, marketing activities are set and wine tourism activities are developed and accompanied.

A central point in the work of the Wine Committee is to define the standards for “typical regional quality wines with geographic origin” – so-called DAC wines. The Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are for Kamptal. Fred Loimer, Chairman of the Regional Wine Committee Kamptal: “Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are the leading varieties of Kamptal because they best reflect its uniqueness. Therefore, they may only be bottled as Kamptal DAC.” In this context, the Committee also devotes itself to the revision of vineyard designations. A measure that is gaining more and more importance, because in marketing Austrian quality wine, the origin level should receive more focus with the vineyard designation in the foreground.

But the marketing activities of the Wine Committee Kamptal should not only take place in the public sphere. Internal communications – so to all who are involved in the production and marketing of quality wines in the region – play an equally important role.
